Covid 19, a blessing in disguise

Was it not for Covid-19, we would not be here. Was it not for the lock down, that began on the 16th of March 2020, for our TNS' School Community, we would not be here. And one month later, as we launch TNS Rise up and Write, TNS ' first student led Online magazine, on the 20th of April 2020, it gives us, the Editorial team, a sense of, perhaps, what can be best described as, a fictional transcendence over a pandemic that has kept us bound within our new reality for weeks.  And as we launch this website and acknowledge the huge effort that has gone into it, it serves as a testimony to the fact that we have not allowed the pandemic to bind our thoughts, chain our creativity or lock down our critical thinking. It has, in fact, liberated us. It has been our blessing in disguise for it has allowed us to gain a creative sense of control over what is beyond our control.

What has sustained us all in this time of uncertainty and change, fear and anxiety, is us. We have reminded us that we are not alone. We know we are in this together. And so, it is with faith and hope in the power of creativity and writing that we launch TNS Rise Up and write and come together to fill these half-empty, half-full digital hallways with our voices and our silences, our laughter and our tears, our quarantales and our advocacy and more.
